Microfinance partners honoured in the Philippines

Oikocredit partners and peers in the Philippines were honoured with awards in special recognition for their outstanding social and financial transformations. The awards were presented during the Philippines’ 25th anniversary celebrations in Manila, which was attended by a senator as well as Oikocredit staff, partners and other affiliates.

Exemplary MFI performance in client protection - Alalay sa Kaunlaran Inc. (ASKI)
Exemplary performance in transformative services to primary stakeholders (non-MFI) - Davao Provinces Rural Development Institute Inc. (DPRDI)
Outstanding role in creating value for the community as micro-social entrepreneur - Venus M. Sadang, member of Abrasa Multi-Purpose Cooperative (AMPC)
Outstanding Performance: Innovation in creating value for clients - Abrasa Multi-Purpose Cooperative (AMPC)
Outstanding role in creating value for the community as a social entrepreneur in agriculture - Miller Bicaldo and Ka Miller, Pecuaria Development Cooperative Inc. (Pecuaria)
Best practice in financial literacy (MFI) - Ahon sa Hirap Inc. (ASHI)
Exceptional accomplishment in financial wellness from persistent efforts in financial literacy - Sonia F. Zamora, Ahon sa Hirap Inc.-Antique (ASHI)
Outstanding efforts in responsible environmental institutional efforts in promoting environmental sustainability - Gata Daku, Multipurpose Cooperative (GDMPC)

The awards were launched in 2012, with the objective to promote and reward excellence among microfinance partners and peers in the field of social performance and innovation. This year, the awards were given during Oikocredit’s 25th birthday celebrations, which was attended by over 200 people
